Hedley is 1-6 against Valley since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Hedley Owls will be playing at home against the Valley Patriots at 6:00 p.m. Hedley has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 8.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 57-17, which was the final score in Hedley's tilt against Groom on Friday. Hedley was down 38-13 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Meanwhile, Valley earned a 36-24 win over Groom on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Valley.
Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kanyon Taylor, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. Taylor hasn't dropped below two blocks for five straight games. Brayson Cruse was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Hedley's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-15. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.5 points per game. As for Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a massive bump to their 18-12 record this season.
Hedley was dealt a bruising 79-26 loss at the hands of Valley in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Taylor, who scored 25 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. Now that Hedley knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
