The Childress Bobcats have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They strolled past Roosevelt with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 44-26. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Childress also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2020.
Childress' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Neeley Oldham led the charge by scoring 11 points. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for her. Kar'Leigh Husband was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Childress' win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-15. As for Roosevelt, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Childress will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Graham at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Graham is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. Roosevelt will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Wink at 5:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
