The Guardian Angels Central Catholic Bluejays will take on the Pender Pendragons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Guardian Angels Central Catholic comes in on three and Pender on four.
Guardian Angels Central Catholic is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 43-20 margin over Wakefield on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Maverik Smith
| 09/26/25 vs Wakefield | 6 |
| 09/19/25 @ Homer | 5 |
| 09/05/25 vs East Butler | 8 |
| 08/29/25 @ Laurel-Concord-Coleridge | 8 |
Guardian Angels Central Catholic's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. Maverik Smith was especially locked on to Wakefield's QB and sacked him twice. Smith is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Pender humbled Homer with a 49-14 victory. Considering the Pendragons have won four games by more than 28 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Guardian Angels Central Catholic better keep an eye on Zander Welsh. He was instrumental in Pender's win, throwing for 133 yards and three TDs, while also rushing for 89 yards and one score. Those 89 rushing yards gave Welsh a new career-high. Pender's leading receiver Reece Heineman was Welsh's top target yet again, picking up 60 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Pender didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Owen Larsen and Heineman. Larsen got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Guardian Angels Central Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Pender, their win bumped their record up to an identical 4-1.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Guardian Angels Central Catholic has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 206.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Pender struggles in that department as they've been averaging 195.8 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Guardian Angels Central Catholic beat Pender 20-12 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Pendragons' Trevor Trimble, who rushed for 127 yards and one TD, and also picked up 68 receiving yards and one score. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Bluejays still be able to contain Trimble? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
