Maverick Chance Delivers Best  Effort of Season
 Ravenwood was led to victory by  Maverick Chance, who turned in his biggest game of the season  on Thursday. Chance rushed for 103 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, and also threw for 38 yards and a touchdown. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 53 yards.
 The  victory for Ravenwood keeps them at an undefeated 7-0. Chance and Ravenwood will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Franklin at 7:00  p.m.  on October 18th.

Matthew Horner Puts an End to Independence's Losing Streak  on Thursday
 Thanks in part to  Matthew Horner, Independence said goodbye to their nine-game losing streak  dating back to last season. Horner produced his best game of the campaign  on Thursday: he rushed for 113 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 55 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
 Independence's first  win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. Horner and Independence will have some time to savor their  victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Fairview at 7:00  p.m.  on October 18th.

Ravenwood Wins Seventh-Straight Thanks to  Austin Mayfield
 Ravenwood picked up their seventh consecutive win   on Thursday thanks in part to  Austin Mayfield. Mayfield turned in nothing short of a gem, picking up  a  sack and making three total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Elliot Hampton Turns in Season-Best  Effort
  Elliot Hampton was instrumental in extending Ravenwood's winning streak to seven on Thursday. Hampton turned in his biggest game of the season, picking up  a  sack and making five total tackles (3.0 for loss).
 On the season,  Hampton  has averaged 2.8 total tackles per game  and for the season has 2 sacks. He is looking even better than he did last year: after five games last season,  he had one  sack.
