Maryvale is still undefeated  this season after their  contest against Gowanda  on Monday, but Gowanda came as close as anyone has to beating them.  Jacob Kuciel and  Luke Altieri were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing,  Kuciel   tossed five innings while giving up  three earned runs off   four  hits. Meanwhile,  Altieri   pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Kuciel has been consistent  recently: he hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. At bat,  Kuciel  went 1-for-3 with one  home run, while  Altieri  scored a  run and  stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those  two  stolen bases gave  Altieri a new career-high.
 They weren't the only ones making solid contact as  three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Dominic Daly, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3.  Isaiah Hill was another,  getting on base  in two of his three plate appearances with three  stolen bases.
Maryvale pushed their record up to 4-0 with the  victory, which was their fourth straight  at home. The  home  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 9.3 runs this season.
