The Scott Central Rebels lost against the Leake Central Gators back in December of 2016, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Scott Central suffered a tough 69-44 defeat at the hands of the Gators. While losing is never fun, Scott Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 177th, while the Gators are ranked 50th).
Scott Central lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Azaeliyah Lyles, who scored 18 points along with two steals. Lyles is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Mariah Bulter was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.
Scott Central has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-12 record this season. As for Leake Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.
Scott Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Leake Central will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Choctaw Central is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
