The Blackville-Hilda Fighting Hawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 66-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hunter-Kinard-Tyler. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Blackville-Hilda in their matchups with Hunter-Kinard-Tyler: they've now lost three in a row.
Several Fighting Hawks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaquel Holman, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Holman has scored all season. Jamarien Priester was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Blackville-Hilda dropped their record down to 4-8 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Hunter-Kinard-Tyler, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-6.
Coincidentally, Blackville-Hilda and Hunter-Kinard-Tyler will both be playing Denmark-Olar the next time they take the court. Blackville-Hilda will head out to face Denmark-Olar at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Hunter-Kinard-Tyler will host them at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
