Caro is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Sandusky is on an 11-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Tigers will welcome the Redskins at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Caro knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Sandusky likes a good challenge.
Caro's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Vassar as they made off with a 15-0 win. With that victory, the Tigers brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.
Xander Grice was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Grice was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three doubles, and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Ramon Zamora Jr was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Mark Warren was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Caro hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Sandusky suffered their biggest loss since May 19, 2025 on Saturday. They came up short against Freeland, falling 11-5. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Redskins, who until this game were averaging 2.82 runs allowed.
Sandusky saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Bush, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. That RBI was Bush's first of the season.
Sandusky's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Caro, their win bumped their record up to an identical 7-4.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Caro has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .474. However, it's not like Sandusky struggles in that department as they've averaged .455. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Caro came out on top in a nail-biter against Sandusky in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, sneaking past 7-5. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Redskins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
