As a matter of fact, Nonnewaug/Lakeview/Shepaug Valley put up the most points they have all season on Friday. They claimed a resounding 61-34 victory over Platt RVT. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 41-21.

Nonnewaug/Lakeview/Shepaug Valley had a senior duo take command as Davion Joe gained 181 total yards and three touchdowns and Brady Herman threw for 271 yards and four touchdowns on only nine passes. Those four passing touchdowns set a new season-high mark for Herman. Nonnewaug/Lakeview/Shepaug Valley's leading receiver Robert Metcalfe was Herman's top target yet again, picking up 100 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.
Nonnewaug/Lakeview/Shepaug Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Sean Crawford, Joe, and Metcalfe picked up one apiece. Joe's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 114 rushing yards. AJ NeJaime was another major factor on D, making 15 total tackles (1.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Notre Dame Prep suffered their closest defeat since September 27, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Weston by a score of 38-35. The loss was the Lancers' first of the season.
Nonnewaug/Lakeview/Shepaug Valley will have to keep a close watch on LJ Richardson and Ja'Cari Harris, a pair of players who had a big impact on Notre Dame Prep's prior game. Richardson rushed for 127 yards and one score on only 11 carries, while Harris rushed for 147 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 15 carries.
Even if they lost, Notre Dame Prep's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Nathan Derisme was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.
Nonnewaug/Lakeview/Shepaug Valley's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Notre Dame Prep, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Nonnewaug/Lakeview/Shepaug Valley has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 160.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Notre Dame Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 277.6 rushing yards.
