The Center Vikings won the last time they faced the Custer County Bobcats, and things went their way on Friday too. Center took down Custer County 40-26. The win made it back-to-back wins for Center.
It was another big night for Alicia Rios, who scored eight points along with six steals and two blocks. It was the first time this season that she posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Yanelli Garcia, who scored 12 points.
Center's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-6. As for Custer County, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Center will play host again and welcome Las Animas, where tip off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Custer County, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Trinidad at 1:30 p.m. on February 10th. Hopefully Trinidad focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 last Thursday.
