The St. Marys Flying Dutch will square off against the Clarion-Limestone Lions at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Wednesday, St. Marys earned a 6-2 victory over Clearfield.
Ben Paul was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Paul was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Mason Nicklas was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. TYSEN BEIMEL was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
St. Marys hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 3-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, Clarion-Limestone waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Berries. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lions have posted since May 6, 2024.
Like St. Marys, Clarion-Limestone also got a great game from a two-way player: Logan Lutz. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Lutz was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Clarion-Limestone is 2-1 when Lutz posts two or more runs, but 3-7 otherwise.
Lutz wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kohen Kemmer, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.
The victory got St. Marys back to even at 8-8. As for Clarion-Limestone, their win bumped their record up to 5-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. St. Marys has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Clarion-Limestone struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
St. Marys beat Clarion-Limestone 11-6 in their previous matchup back in April. Do the Flying Dutch have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
