Crawford County is 0-3 against Temple since January of 2023 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Two weeks ago, Crawford County's game was all tied up 16-16 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They rang in the new year with a 38-30 win over Twiggs County. The win was just what Crawford County needed coming off of a 64-34 loss in their prior game.
Jakayla Peeples was her usual excellent self, scoring 15 points along with two steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Crawford County's points. Trinity Fields was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Temple put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They really took it to Mt. Zion for the full four quarters, racking up a 56-26 victory on the road. 56 seems to be a good number for Temple as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Crawford County's victory ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-8. As for Temple, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-6.
