The Urbana Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Richwoods Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Urbana's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matches.
Urbana posted their biggest win yet this season two weeks ago. Couldn't have asked for a better start to 2024 than the 65-38 blowout they got at home against Bloomington. Given Urbana's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 253rd, while Bloomington is ranked 536th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
In what's become a running theme this season, Richwoods gave their fans yet another huge victory on Monday. They blew past Eastside 77-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Urbana is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season. As for Richwoods, their win bumped their record up to 13-4.
Urbana might still be hurting after the 80-56 defeat they got from Richwoods in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Urbana avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
