If the Bushnell-Prairie City Spartans were riding high off their 51-23 takedown of the West Prairie Cyclones on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Bushnell-Prairie City was the victim of a tough 44-23 loss at the hands of Astoria/VIT on Tuesday. Bushnell-Prairie City was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Astoria/VIT apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Astoria/VIT's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but KATE STAMBAUGH led the charge by scoring 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of ABBIE STEVENSON, who scored three points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Bushnell-Prairie City's defeat dropped their record down to 1-26. As for Astoria/VIT, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-24.
Bushnell-Prairie City will challenge Lewistown at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Bushnell-Prairie City is coming into the game with 12 straight losses on the road, meaning Lewistown will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for Astoria/VIT, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 66-41 loss vs. Brown County on the 8th.
