Madison Krueger was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bella Milano, who went 3-for-4 with six RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple was her first of the season. Aria Griskauskas was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Catskill's offense. They lost 13-0 to Taconic Hills on Tuesday. The Cats haven't had much luck with the Titans recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.
Catskill saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Edmonds, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.
Webutuck now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Catskill, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.
Catskill's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Webutuck has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.9 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Catskill, though, as they've been averaging only 4 strikeouts. Will Webutuck keep running through batters, or will the Cats buck the trend?
Webutuck was able to grind out a solid win over Catskill in their previous matchup back in April, winning 10-5. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Cats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
