The North Johnston Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Franklin Academy as North Johnston made off with a 77-56 win. North Johnston has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Marcel Freeman was his usual excellent self, scoring 28 points along with seven steals. Freeman is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Cory Barnes was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
North Johnston pushed their record up to 12-3 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Franklin Academy, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Johnston and Eastern Wayne will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Eastern Wayne's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven matches. As for Franklin Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Raleigh Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Raleigh Charter has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 5.
