There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. We'll dive into that and more in this week's report.
Can't Touch This
It isn't too difficult to come out on top when you enjoy a 206-yard edge over your opponent, and Riggs had just that last week. It had all the answers against Mitchell, winning 42 - 14. Riggs did have the odds in its favor, but the team did even better than the MaxPreps state rankings indicated. Garrett Stout deserves a lot of credit in the win. He rushed for 160 yards and threw for two touchdowns, a performance good enough to make him one of the top players in the power rankings last week.
No Stoppin 'Em
Beresford was the better team in every quarter against Flandreau last week and consequently the better team overall. Everything went Beresford's way against Flandreau as it secured a 55 - 8 win. At 47 points, that marked Beresford's largest margin of victory so far this year. The combined 63 points was the most of any game featuring a power-ranked team.
Movin on Up
Dell Rapids claimed most-improved honors this week by climbing the power ranking ladder six rungs after its game against Milbank. Dell Rapids breezed past Milbank with a final score of 41 - 12. Dell Rapids's offense might have been extra motivated to turn things around after difficulties scoring in its previous game.
