The Bowman Academy Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Lake Station Edison 84-38 at home. That 84-38 margin sets a new team best for Bowman Academy this season.
Bowman Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jamarie Pollard led the charge by scoring 25 points along with three steals and three blocks. That's the first time this season that Pollard posted two or more blocks. Jalen Branham was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Lake Station Edison's loss came despite strong showings from Davon Jones and Brandon Pulliam. Jones scored 14 points along with six rebounds, while Pulliam scored six points. Jones scored a full 36.8% of Lake Station Edison's points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Even though they lost, Lake Station Edison were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bowman Academy only pulled down 22 offensive rebounds.
The win got Bowman Academy back to even at 5-5. As for Lake Station Edison, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bowman Academy will challenge Fort Wayne North Side at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lake Station Edison, they will head out on the road to face off against Hammond Bishop Noll at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hammond Bishop Noll presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lake Station Edison in Indiana (Hammond Bishop Noll is ranked 52nd, while Lake Station Edison is ranked 424th).
