Lincoln is headed into the game having just posted their closest win since April 16, 2024 on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-9 victory over St. John Paul II. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.

Mia Owens was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gaby Rodriguez, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
While North Florida Christian didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past Leon 15-2 on Friday. Considering the Eagles have won four matchups by more than ten runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Gabrielle Hughes was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Allison Townley and Brynlee Pafford did most of the damage at the plate: Townley scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Pafford scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That stolen base was Pafford's first of the season. Reese Sparkman was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
North Florida Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Leon only posted an OBP of .348.
Lincoln's win bumped their record up to 2-8. As for North Florida Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
Lincoln took their win against North Florida Christian in their previous meeting back in April of 2021 by a conclusive 7-1. Does Lincoln have another victory up their sleeve, or will North Florida Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
