Basketball Recap: Christian Collegiate Academy Comes Up Short

It was a good run, but Christian Collegiate Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against the Presbyterian Christian Bobcats, falling 62-41. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Bobcats are ranked 32nd).

When it comes to explaining why Christian Collegiate Academy lost, don't look at Gabe Collier. Despite the final result, he posted 16 points along with five boards and three steals. Collier is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tahj Hill, who had nine points and eight rebounds.

Christian Collegiate Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Presbyterian Christian, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2.

Christian Collegiate Academy will take on Lighthouse Baptist Academy in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Christian Collegiate Academy is facing Lighthouse Baptist Academy at the right time seeing as Lighthouse Baptist Academy is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Presbyterian Christian, they will head out to square off against Richton at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
