The Box Elder Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. The matchup between Box Elder and Fort Benton/Highwood wasn't particularly close, with Box Elder falling 57-43. While losing is never fun, Box Elder can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Montana basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while Fort Benton/Highwood is ranked 30th).
Despite the defeat, Box Elder saw an underclassman step up: Martay Rosette scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Ariel Gopher, who scored nine points.
Box Elder's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Fort Benton/Highwood, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Box Elder won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against North Star on December 16th. Fort Benton/Highwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
