Valor Christian is a perfect 3-0 against Doherty since December of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Valor Christian Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Doherty Spartans at 6:30 p.m. Valor Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 contests -- so hopefully Doherty likes a good challenge.
Valor Christian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They blew past Vista PEAK Prep 91-59. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 17 games by 20 points or more this season.

Peyton Jones continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 7-for-12 from deep and dropping a double-double with 35 points and ten rebounds. The match was her fourth in a row with at least 19 points. Rylie Beers was another key player, shooting 67% from the field to rack up 16 points and five assists.
Valor Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Doherty beat Rock Canyon 35-29 on Saturday. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Jaguars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Valor Christian better keep an eye on Lalannie Donald. She was instrumental in Doherty's win, putting up 13 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Smith, who posted four points.
Valor Christian pushed their record up to 22-2 with the victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.6 points. As for Doherty, their win bumped their record up to 18-6.
Keep an eye on the arc in Wednesday's game: Valor Christian has been dynamite from deep this season, having nailed 35% of their three-pointers per game. It's a different story for Doherty, though, as they've only made 28.5% of their three-pointers this season. Given Valor Christian's sizable advantage in that area, Doherty will need to find a way to close that gap.
Valor Christian took their victory against Doherty in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 78-56. Does Valor Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will Doherty turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
