The Forney Jackrabbits won the last time they faced the North Mesquite Stallions, and things went their way on Thursday too. Forney took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 53-13 win over North Mesquite. The result was nothing new for Forney, who have now won six games by 21 points or more so far this season.
Forney found their leader in underclassman Javian Osborne, who rushed for 175 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.9 yards per carry, and also caught a touchdown.
The team's defense also helped out by holding North Mesquite to a paltry 235 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Forney's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out five times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Kelvion Riggins and his two sacks.
Forney's win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-1. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 38 points. As for North Mesquite, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Forney will take on McKinney North at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. One thing working in McKinney North's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three contests. As for North Mesquite, they have the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Lancaster at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Lancaster presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than North Mesquite in Texas (Lancaster is ranked 85th, while North Mesquite is ranked 496th).
