It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Westside had no problem doing just that on Friday. They skirted past the Camden Bulldogs 24-21. Winning may never get old, but the Rams sure are getting used to it with their ninth in a row.
Keylan Powell continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 235 yards and a pair of scores. He has become a key player for Westside: the team is 7-1 when he posts at least 100 rushing yards, but 2-3 otherwise.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Westside was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 243 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 190 rushing yards in six consecutive games.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Greyson Rimpf, who threw for 166 yards and one touchdown while completing 72.7% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Smith, who gained 66 total yards and a touchdown.
Westside's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Camden, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 9-4.
