Baseball Recap: Caro Wins Going Away Against Sandusky

Caro won the last time they faced Sandusky and things went their way on Monday too. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Wolves. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won seven matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Landyn Stine made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Trentin Hessling was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. He has become a key player for Caro: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Max Grice, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Caro always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sandusky only posted an OBP of .211.

Caro's record now sits at 7-5. As for Sandusky, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-4.

Caro will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wolves: the pair will be back at it again later today.
