Football Recap: Mesa Ridge Starts Season with Victory Against Air Academy

Mesa Ridge took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Thursday. They blew past the Air Academy Kadets 28-0. The Grizzlies have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Kadets, too.

Leland Frescaz threw for 96 yards and one TD. Jakehlan Watts was his top target, picking up 43 receiving yards. On the ground, Tre Salas rushed for 67 yards and three scores.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mesa Ridge will square off against Northfield at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Air Academy, they will take on Sand Creek at 7:00 p.m. on the 5th.
