After two games on the road, Redeemer Christian is heading back home. They will take on the Riverside Christian Wranglers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Redeemer Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Redeemer Christian didn't have too much trouble with Cornerstone Academy on the road as they won 66-48. Redeemer Christian's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Andrew Parker continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Redeemer Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Beau Suarez, who scored 10 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals.
Meanwhile, Riverside Christian's 31-2 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They were beaten by Branford 77-46 on Monday. While losing is never fun, Riverside Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 425th, while Branford is ranked 110th).
The losses dropped Redeemer Christian to 2-3 and Cornerstone Academy to 0-2.
Redeemer Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Riverside Christian in their previous meeting back in January of 2019, winning 56-44. Does Redeemer Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will Riverside Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
