Brynlee Jones made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted over her last ten games.
In other batting news, Kaley Garland was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jamie Jackson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Greeneville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .543. They are 10-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
West Greene came out on top against Unaka on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run sixth inning. The Buffaloes took their contest against the Rangers 6-3.
Morgan Brown spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Alexis Cutshall, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Hayley Arnold was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
West Greene's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Greeneville, their win bumped their record up to 16-13.
Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Greeneville hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .365. However, it's not like West Greene struggles in that department as they've averaged .316. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
