The Satellite Scorpions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to Heritage 49-45. Satellite lost against Heritage in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 63-20 score last time.
Despite the loss, Satellite still got an impressive performance from Sydney Logsdon, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Logsdon has scored all season. Alyna Lora was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 12 rebounds and three steals.
Leading Heritage to victory were Jayda Lyles and Trishay Collins. Lyles scored ten points along with six steals, while Collins scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Kendra Jean, who scored 13 points along with four steals.
Satellite has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Heritage, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-5.
Satellite on the road again on Thursday and play against Eau Gallie at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th. Hopefully Eau Gallie focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Friday. As for Heritage, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Bayside at 7:00 p.m. Bayside's defense has only allowed 28.5 points per game this season, so Heritage's offense will have their work cut out for them.
