Antelope is 0-4 against Desert Heights Prep since March of 2023 but things could change on Friday. Antelope will be playing in front of their home fans against Desert Heights Prep at 2:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.
Antelope is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by an 18-9 margin over Salome last Wednesday. While the Rams didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Antelope got a massive performance out of Sebastian Solis, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. Those two runs gave Solis a new career-high. Christian Avila was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Antelope always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Desert Heights Prep put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let Valley Lutheran get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Yote, who have now won three contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
The team relied heavily on Justin Aguon, who scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He also brought in two RBI, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jesse Aguon, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Desert Heights Prep's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average this season. As for Antelope, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-2.
Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Antelope has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .433. However, it's not like Desert Heights Prep struggles in that department as they've averaged .517. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
