After a string of three wins, the Southside Christian Sabres's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell to Dixie 49-45. Southside Christian lost against Dixie in their previous head to head last Thursday, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 46-45 score last time.
Several Sabres players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bryson Duck, who scored 16 points. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Zane Hagy, who scored 12 points.
Southside Christian's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Dixie, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southside Christian will be home for the holidays to greet First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Dixie will be home for the holidays to greet Abbeville at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
