Rancho came up short against Legacy on Monday, falling 15-5. The loss continues a trend for the Rams in their meetings with the Longhorns: they've now lost three in a row.
Katelee Nelson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Cimarron-Memorial got the win against Mojave on Monday by a conclusive 18-3. The win continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Rattlers: they've now won eight in a row.
Jasslyn Ramos was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Ramos was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jasmine Ponce, who fired off two home runs, eight RBI, and four runs while going 4-for-4. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilliana Orosco, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Cimarron-Memorial kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive contests dating back to last season.
Rancho's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Cimarron-Memorial, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
Rancho was able to grind out a solid win over Cimarron-Memorial in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, winning 16-11. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
