Addie Robbins was nothing short of spectacular: she went 7 of 14 en route to 21 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. That's the most points she has posted since back in November of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyannah Correll, who posted five points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Maconaquah entered their tilt with North Miami on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Warriors, sneaking past 42-39. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Braves have posted since December 20, 2023.
Maconaquah's win came from a few key players Peru will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Aubrey Stoll, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 15 points along with five boards and three steals. She has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Addie Maiben, who put up nine points and six rebounds.
Maconaquah is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for Peru, their victory bumped their record up to 5-9.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Peru has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 27.6 boards per game. However, it's not like Maconaquah struggles in that department as they've been averaging 23.9 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Peru suffered a grim 64-43 defeat to Maconaquah when the teams last played last Thursday. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Maiben, who went 5 of 7 on her way to 18 points. Now that Peru knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
