After six games on the road, Phoenix is heading back home. They will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Etna Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Phoenix is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Etna in their respective states (Phoenix is ranked 62nd in Oregon, while Etna is ranked 1042nd in California).
Last Saturday, Phoenix was able to grind out a solid victory over Harrisburg, taking the game 49-39.
Meanwhile, Etna pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 71-55 to Hoopa Valley. Etna has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Phoenix is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Etna, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-7.
Phoenix took their victory against Etna when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 76-53. Will Phoenix repeat their success, or does Etna have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
