Basketball Recap: North Georgia Christian Academy Comes Up Short

North Georgia Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 81-68 to the Philadelphia Christian School Eagles. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Monday (57), the Knights still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, North Georgia Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Luke Beaver went 17 for 29 on his way to 44 points and eight assists. Beaver's evening made it 28 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zed Blackwell, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 11 points.

North Georgia Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Philadelphia Christian School, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-5.

North Georgia Christian Academy will venture away from home to face off against Unity Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in North Georgia Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matches. As for Philadelphia Christian School, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Crossroads Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Philadelphia Christian School has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
