The Ellet Orangemen will face off against the Nordonia Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Ellet has nine straight wins, Nordonia has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Monday, Ellet beat Medina 9-6.

Rylie Sprouse spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Grace Norman, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Addison Lipply was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Ellet kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in nine consecutive matches.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Nordonia and Twinsburg, and Twinsburg kept the tradition alive. The Knights took a 13-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers on Monday. Even though they lost, the Knights' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.3 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Nordonia got a massive performance out of Maddie Nyce, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was Nyce's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Haydn Paul, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Ellet pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Nordonia, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
Nordonia's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Ellet has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Nordonia, though, as they've been averaging 11.9 hits. Given Ellet's sizable advantage in that area, the Knights will need to find a way to close that gap.
