After a string of five wins, Betsy Layne's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They lost 16-6 to the Johnson Central Golden Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-2 back in April.

Betsy Layne's loss dropped their record down to 11-17. As for Johnson Central, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 20-7.

Looking ahead, Betsy Layne will face off against Martin County at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Johnson Central, they will host Pikeville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Golden Eagles have won four straight at home, while the Panthers won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
