The Pace Academy Knights came tearing into Saturday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They slipped by Riverwood 61-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Lamar Moore was his usual excellent self, scoring 16 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. MJ Madison was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Pace Academy's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.6 points per game. As for Riverwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-5.
Pace Academy will stay at home for another game and welcome Hiram at 3:00 p.m. on January 15th. One thing working in Hiram's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matches. As for Riverwood, they will head out on the road to face off against Dunwoody at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
