Dayspring Christian Academy has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Kiowa Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
In what's become a running theme this season, Dayspring Christian Academy gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They blew past Dawson School, posting a 63-22 victory at home. Given Dayspring Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 81st, while the Mustangs are ranked 276th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dayspring Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Faith Hayward, who scored 23 points along with two steals. Hayward is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played. Eboselulu Omofoma was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Kiowa came tearing into Thursday's matchup with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down Pikes Peak Christian 55-37. Kiowa's win was all the more impressive since the Eagles were averaging only 29.93 points allowed on the season.
Dayspring Christian Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points per game. As for Kiowa, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.
Dayspring Christian Academy came up short against the Indians in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, falling 59-46. Can Dayspring Christian Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
