There's no place like home for Milwaukee Reagan, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 16-5 margin over Riverside University/Meir on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Huskies, who have now won 13 games by 11 runs or more so far this season.
Brooke Scott made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted over her last 11 matches.
In other batting news, Milwaukee Reagan got a massive performance out of Mya Merced, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Merced a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Frank-Kuzmiuk, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
Milwaukee Reagan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .760. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Riverside University/Meir only posted an OBP of .429.
Milwaukee Reagan has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Riverside University/Meir, they moved to 8-7 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Milwaukee Reagan will take on Milwaukee King at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Huskies are facing the Generals at the right time seeing as the Generals are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Riverside University/Meir, they will square off against Greendale at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
