The Hernando Tigers had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Clinton on Friday and snuck past 2-1. Two seems to be a good number for Hernando as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of goals in their previous game.
They were led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Parks Raffety and
Arturo Tapia, who scored both of Hernando's goals. The pair have combined for a total of eight so far this season.
The victory made it two in a row for Hernando and bumps their season record up to 16-3-1. As for Clinton, their loss dropped their record down to 18-2-4.
Hernando will head out on the road to face off against Oxford at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Mississippi (Oxford is ranked fourth, while Hernando is ranked sixth). Clinton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
