Even though the North Park Wildcats have not done well against the Hayden Tigers recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. North Park came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 49-41. This was payback for North Park, who suffered a 59-57 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Among those leading the charge was Jace Cornelison, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Pittington, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds.
North Park's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Hayden, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Park will take on the Saints at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hayden, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Dragons at 2:30 p.m.
