Given Bethany's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while Casady is ranked 506th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
When it comes to explaining why Casady lost, one person who can't be blamed is Bryson Buckingham. Despite the final result, he shot 5-for-7 from long range and dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kaden Leache, who scored 15 points along with five assists.
Bethany's win bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Casady, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bethany will take on Elk City at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Elk City is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak. As for Casady, they will head out on the road to challenge Kingfisher at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
