NFL Yet Academy pushed their score all the way to 56, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 60-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. John Paul II Catholic.
Despite the defeat, NFL Yet Academy saw an underclassman step up: STANLEY HOLLEY dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. The game was HOLLEY's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was DANIEL NAJAR, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Tempe Prep can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Scottsdale Preparatory Academy 48-45. The win was just what Tempe Prep needed coming off of a 56-35 defeat in their prior match.
NFL Yet Academy's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-6. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.8 points per game. As for Tempe Prep, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.
NFL Yet Academy came up short against Tempe Prep in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 67-62. Can NFL Yet Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
