This season hasn't been kind to the Weeki Wachee Hornets, who are still winless after their sixth matchup. They fell 70-62 to Citrus on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Weeki Wachee still got an impressive performance from Isaac Priester, who scored 32 points along with 7 rebounds and 7 blocks. Priester scored a full 51.6% of Weeki Wachee's points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Steven Martin, who scored 7 points along with 5 rebounds.
Landon Gibbs was the offensive standout of the match as he dropped a double-double on 16 points and 26 rebounds. Cryston Lofton was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with 5 rebounds.
Weeki Wachee's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Citrus, their victory bumped their record up to 1-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Weeki Wachee won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Hernando at 7:30 p.m. on December 6th. Hopefully Hernando focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Tuesday. As for Citrus, they will head out on the road to face off against West Port at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in West Port's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
