This season hasn't been kind to the Lewiston Tigers, who are still winless after their ninth contest. They were outmatched by Meridian on the road and fell 49-6. Lewiston was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 26-0.
It was another big night for Jaylee Sobotka, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds for Meridian. That makes it three consecutive games in which Sobotka has scored at least 25% of Meridian's points. Another player making a difference was Jaala Stewart, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Lewiston's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-9. As for Meridian, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lewiston will square off against Cedar Bluffs on Friday. Cedar Bluffs has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Meridian, they will head out on the road to face off against McCool Junction at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
