The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Crowley County in their matchups with Holly: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the defeat, Crowley County saw an underclassman step up: Alexis Rusher scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals. That was a full 55.6% of Crowley County's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Holly was led to victory by Josie Kissell and Averee Davis. Kissell scored nine points along with nine rebounds and six steals, while Davis scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Davis has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Anayi Cerros, who scored six points along with ten rebounds and four steals.
Crowley County's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-5. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.6 points per game. As for Holly, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
Crowley County will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Holly at 2:00 p.m. Holly has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for they, they will head out on the road to challenge Primero at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Primero focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Saturday.
