Softball Recap: West Albany Sets Scoring Season-High Against Crescent Valley

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Albany). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Crescent Valley Raiders an 11-0 shutout on Monday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Kodi Carapinha 2026 was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Another player making a difference was Amelia Kidd 2026, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.

Carapinha 2026 wasn't the only one making solid contact: West Albany kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for the Bulldogs: they were averaging 4.8 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 8.8.

The victory made it two in a row for West Albany and bumps their season record up to 3-7. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-7 South Albany and 3-7 Crescent Valley. As for Crescent Valley, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-7.
