It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Verdugo Hills Dons had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past Marshall 42-0 at home. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Verdugo Hills had established a 23 point advantage.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Verdugo Hills, racking up 12 points in total. All those points came courtesy of Luis Rodriguez: he added nine points with three field goals, and another three kicking extra points.
Verdugo Hills now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Marshall, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.
Verdugo Hills will take on Jordan at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Jordan will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. Marshall does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
