When it comes to explaining why Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica lost, one person who can't be blamed is Michael Caceres. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. Caceres is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Darren Awili, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Leading Pilibos to victory were Eric Honanian and Antranik Balian. Honanian scored 23 points along with three steals, while Balian shot 4-for-11 from deep and dropped a double-double on 36 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Honanian has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Alex Andriassian, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds.
Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica now has a losing record at 12-13. As for Pilibos, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-7.
Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica will be playing in front of their home fans against Yeshiva University of Los Angeles (YULA) at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Pilibos, they will head out on the road to square off against Flintridge Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
